Our experience in Vietnam
We’ve been in Vietnam for over a year. We first came here in April 2017 and taught English in Ho Chi Minh City for a year. We returned in December 2023 for a longer stint. We’ve traveled all over Vietnam, including a solo motorbike adventure from HCMC to Hanoi and other unforgettable adventures. Vietnam is probably our favorite home base in Southeast Asia for travel, so we’re here a lot. Here are some of our latest articles based in Vietnam.

Why do we love Vietnam?
I once heard a statistic that Vietnam is one of the least returned-to places in Southeast Asia (people visit once and don’t come back), and it shocked me. Vietnam might not have the friendliest people, but it’s a very open country, with some of the most gorgeous natural beauty I’ve ever seen.
There’s nothing quite like sitting on the back of a motorbike while soaking in the incredible scenery between Danang and Hue (the Hai Van Pass) or sipping Vietnamese coffee on a small plastic chair in the early mornings in the city. There’s actually a lot of comfort and peace here if you’re open to finding it.
