Who Are The Bounding Backpackers?

Welcome to our blog about traveling, exploring, and culture! We are a traveling couple who have been on the road since 2017. While we still see ourselves as “amateur travelers”, we’ve realized we have a lot of valuable information to share.

We have lived abroad for most of our time together and have picked up tons of useful information about minimalist living that may be helpful to backpackers and remote workers. But most importantly, we want to help you have the time of your life while traveling.

Introduction To The Bounding Backpackers

You can get to know us a little bit before we begin on this journey together.

Who Are The Bounding Backpackers?

We are a couple who met in Koh Tao, Thailand. We were both in the middle of our solo backpacking adventurers. We hit it off right away, realized we had a shared passion for travel and exploration and made it our life goal to explore as much of this world as possible.

Currently, we’ve made it to a point where we can live 100% remotely. We tend to stay in one country for 3-6 months and one city/town/village for 4-6 weeks at a time. We usually work on personal projects and other things during the week and spend our weekends traveling around the area doing all the touristy things.

How We Became Passionate About Travel

How does anyone become passionate about travel?

I think neither of us realized we had that intense awe of the world until we were already traveling. But during our respective first backpacking trips, we both instantly fell in love with the lifestyle.

Of course, there are historical and cultural ties that draw you to certain places. For example, I really wanted to visit Myanmar because of a book I read in university, “Harp Of Burma”. And Garrett really wanted to visit Vietnam because, as a history buff, he was fascinated by the Vietnam War and the after-effects of such a traumatic time.

The Goal Of The Bounding Backpackers Blog

We have a million goals for this blog, but the two most important goals are to provide the world with useful resources for their travels and inspire others to embrace this chaotic world we live in.

To Provide Helpful And Entertaining Resources

As full-time travelers, we often spend our weekends and holidays exploring as much of our destination as possible. During the “work week”, we try to blend in and “live like a local”, but on the weekends, we get out and explore a bit more. We love to do weekend trips, city tours, hiking, and trekking.

We want to share in-depth guides on all the fun things we’ve done. Some examples include visiting Machu Picchu in Peru, climbing an active volcano in Guatemala, or trekking through the remote jungles of Colombia.

To Inspire Others To Embrace Adventure

Traveling is our true passion. We’re absolutely obsessed with traveling, adventuring, and exploring. But we realize a lot of people just don’t know where to start. Our goal is to inspire others to take the next step and get out in the world. Whether you realize it or not, embracing adventure is so much easier than you’ve been led to believe.

Of course, we have other personal goals with this travel blog. But education and inspiration are two of our pillars when it comes to getting out there and seeing this wonderful planet.

Final Thoughts

We have both been writing and working online for years. We are no strangers to the digital nomad life, but we are strangers to the traveling blogging life. This is a new adventure for us, and we are so excited to take you with us.
